Company History Gus Benner and Rollie Nawman formed a partnership
and founded the company in 1925 as a sheet metal
fabricator in Oakland, California. It became a corporation in 1946. In 1950, the Pacific Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company of San Francisco, California asked Benner-Nawman to design and fabricate a phone booth made from aluminum, glass and steel. From 1950 to 1999, the company's primary business was the fabrication and assembly of public telephone booths and accessories, selling hundreds of thousands of units in the United States and into over 40 countries worldwide. In 1976, BN created a distribution group for selling low voltage termination cabinets and hand tools to the electrical market. In 1982, Benner-Nawman began its relationship with the Ishihara Company in Japan. Today, BN is IKK Co Ltd. (Ishihara's) largest distributor of their DIAMOND portable rebar cutters and benders to the concrete and general contractor markets in North America. Benner-Nawman enjoys a partnership with several global companies helping them in the development of new products for the North American market.Sales and Distribution Currently, Benner-Nawman uses a network of ten construction product manufacturer representative companies plus our corporate team to promote DIAMOND tools across the United States, Canada, Central America and the Caribbean. Each representative company is located in the region they represent. Some of our professional manufacturer representatives also stock our products at their regional warehouse for faster delivery. Benner-Nawman's corporate office and warehouse are located in a 56,000 square foot facility on seven acres of land in the Industrial Air Park of Wickenburg, Arizona. There is ample room within the facility for maintaining product inventory plus there are several acres of land for further development. National trucking companies, FEDEX, DHL and UPS deliver and accept shipments on a daily basis.Rebar Cutters and Benders DIAMOND grade 60 rated rebar cutters and benders enable you to get the job done quickly, efficiently and safely. Our products range from powerful hand-held tools, through portable table bending units for on-site use, to highway ready trailer rebar fabrication units and Workstations for shop production. At the heart of each of our hand-held rebar cutters and benders is the time proven DIAMOND operating system, which uses electrically driven hydraulics to ensure smooth, powerful and fast results. Since DIAMOND originated this concept in 1972, continuous development has led to higher output, lower weight and even greater toughness and durability. Our DC series 115 volt cutters cleanly shear rebar within a few seconds and are quicker and more economical than disc or abrasive type cutters and cutting torches. Safety is improved as there are no sparks or flame and no trailing hoses to snare equipment or workers' feet. The DBD series portable benders can be run off a small generator; they are designed for the ease of operation, for quick and accurate rebar bending for both shop and field fabrication.Manufacturing Capabilities BN has CAD design capability plus it uses Solid Works to give us three dimension modeling. We have sheet metal, aluminum, stainless steel, wood and laminate fabrication equipment. We have the ability to do both MIG and TIG welding and we have screen-printing capabilities. Several of our shop machines are CNC programmable giving us the ability to set up jobs quickly. Our equipment allows us to design new items that complement our current line of products.
